Five Ways to Spring into It | Friday Five

Spring is here, even if it hasn't quite sprung. This week's Friday Five linkup topic is titled just that, Spring! I first thought about writing about 5 types of springs. I could talk about compressions, torsions, double torsion. But then I realized I don't really know anything about that and it in no way fits my blog. Then I thought I might need more sleep. Then, after all that I can up with a real topic to write about. This week's topic is

Five Ways to Spring into It

1. Get a new outfit

Who doesn't love some new running gear? Go out and get yourself something new, something that fits good and makes you feel good. A new tech shirt, some shorts, maybe some compression gear... or be a real man and get a kilt! Yes, they are great for running.

2. Break out the sunglasses

Do you like to run on a sunny day? I thought so. While the weather isn't perfectly there quite yet in northern Virginia, just get yourself in the right mindset. Go running while it's still sunny out, put on some shades and soak in that vitamin D. It may not be fully spring warm yet, but with the sun glasses, it might just feel a little bit closer.

3. Bounce to the tunes

Get up and going with some tunes. Break out the happy tracks. Music can make you feel good, so find that sunny mix, pop in the headphones and get to work. It may just add an extra spring into your step.

4. Free Rita's!

So, this is not as big of a deal down here, so it may not be in your area either, but today is free Rita's day. The first day of spring is the day to go out and get a free Rita's Italian Ice. In PA, it's just a thing. Everyone knows about it and many people go get their free one. So go find if there is one near you and enjoy your taste of spring time. Then know it comes every year.

5. Get out there

Just do it already. Just get out there. Spring to it. Then you've sprung into it. You can't spring until you've sprang so getting springing!

But wait, there's more!

That's right, I'm infomercial-ing you. Today is not only the first day of spring. It is also my blogaversary!

It's... your... blogaversary! (Source)

So, I'm going to celebrate with you, my readers. What better way to celebrate than with a giveaway! Come back later tonight, and you'll find out what I'll be giving away and have your chance to win.

  1. Congrats on your blogaversary! We don't have a Rita's but a great frozen yogurt place that carried Dole Whip just like at WDW! I always wear sunglasses when running, even in the winter.

  2. Happy blogaversary! I love your original idea of five types of springs...ha ha! One of my bosses at work wears a kilt to work every St. Patrick's Day. I could see how it would be good for running!

    1. It was really nice on the run. I thought about wearing mine to work, but last summer they adjusted the dress code to not include shorts, so didn't want to push my luck, haha.

  3. Congrats on your blogversary! No Rita's here, and we're a little behind you on the signs of spring. But I like your suggestion about new clothes. Who can't use a new outfit?

    1. I've been looking in to invest in a set of bluetooth headphones, but so hard to choose. And I want to invest in a good pair, so need to be sure before dropping down that money.

  5. Living in PA, Rita's is a big thing. I am not home for my free one for the first day of spring. But being in Florida today is much better. -L

  11. I am also thinking to buy one kilt as running outfit, but got confused with hell of choices, there are so many kilts made of tartans plus utility kilts made of cotton..
Which company should I go for.. Kilts range from $50 to 300$.. I searched on yelp.com, dress2kilt.eu and kiltguide.com but could not find any company with good customer reviews. will you please help me out to find the best kilt selling company..
