I love running to music. That may be evident with some posts, like this post on Running to the Beat or my review of the Plantronics BackBeat Fit. This week's Friday Five linkup is about music that pumps up a workout. I love when the Friday Five goes music, such as my two posts about my McFly Day list and more from McFly Day. This week, I'll be sharing more of my tunes with you and going Hanz and Franz on you.
Songs to Get You Pumped
1. World Championship Finale 1 - Das Sound Machine
This first track is from Pitch Perfect 2, by the german acapella group. It is a great mash up of two separate songs I was thinking of listing on here, so I can get a two for one deal. Those songs are Fall Out Boy's My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark and DJ Khaleed
2. B.O.B. - Outkast
I'll go ahead and date myself a little and say that for the next one I'm jumping back to high school. In the Barney Stinson world of mixes, they should start high and go higher. This song will just start full blast, so you can't help but do some speed work with it.
3. Dancing with Myself - Billy Idol
I have a wide variety of musical that really spans the decades. This song is one of those songs that is just so much fun and just sticks around. I can't help but move and dance to it (including when I'm at work, just a little bit) so it's a great pick me up and pump me up song on a run.4. Something's Gotta Give
If you ignore the first 15 seconds or so of 90s rock guitar "intro" to get to the song, this tune gets a great beat going. I have a lot of Aerosmith songs I love, but this one works well for having a great pace
5. I'll Make a Man Out of You - Donny Osmon and Chorus in Mulan
I have to give you at least one Disney song on my list. I'm pretty sure some people would call me out if I left them completely off. I'm actually surprised this one didn't make any of the past posts. I've been double checking them to make sure to give you new songs. This one comes with it's own training montage, so how does that not pump you up?Linking Up

ReplyDeleteThat is all.
That's is all that is needed. Fantastic.
DeleteLove the variety of your tunes! Can we say eclectic?
ReplyDeleteThat is the best way to describe my musical tastes. Of course if you think this is all over the place, you should see my full Spotify or my personal collection.
DeleteI love hearing what is on everyone's playlist because they are usually songs I don't know. Perhaps i've heard them before but just don't know what the name of the song is.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love them for that reason too, because my playlist always grows after topics like these.
DeleteHah! I think I mortified my son by singing along with ALL THE WORDS of White Wedding this summer. Just don't tell me he was listening to an "oldies" station - can Billy Idol qualify as classic rock?
ReplyDeleteI think he can qualify. When you say "oldies" to me, it makes me think of the stations I listened to growing up, which was what my parents choose. Oldies to me means 50s, 60s and 70s, which I know all very well. Part of my wide range of musical likes.
