Five Things in my Gymbag - Friday Five

It's that time of the week, Friday Five linkup. This week's Friday Five was a little tough. Not overly hard, but one where on the surface, I don't have much interesting for. So instead I took the higher level, meta-physical sort of fancy way for it (Did that sound smart? It was supposed to sound smart). This week's topic is

Five Things in my Gym Bag

1. Stress  and Worries

The first thing in my gym bag, that I take to the gym and leave after going is stress and worries. I good run or workout is a great way to de-stress for me. I can push out that stress and any worries from my head, leaving them there when I go.

2. Feeling Unhealthy

Frankly, I often carry in my gym baggage feeling unfit. We all have bad days. Going for a workout can help take those feelings away. Afterwards, even usually after a bad run, I feel more fit than when I started. I know I got out there and worked.

3. Endorphins

After a good workout, you can't help but leave with endorphins. My gym bag ditched the "feeling unhealthy" and replaced it with endorphins. I feel good, happy and energetic. Heck, after a morning run, I even often skip the first cup of coffee. That's no small deal.

4. Accomplishment

When leaving the gym, my bag has a little extra sense of accomplishment. I'm still not in a very good regular routine. Each day in the gym is 1 more day towards healthier living.

5. Pride

Bundled with #4 is the fifth thing you'll find in my gym baggage on the way out: a sense of pride. I try hard to build that in myself, which isn't always easy.

Um... in your gym bag?

So, instead going with physical things in my gym bag, since there is zero unique things in there (I actually looked), I went with "things" I take with in with me and leave there, and "things" I take back with me, in my "gym bag". Hope you like.

  2. What a great take on five things in your gym bag. Realizing it takes more than just the products in your bag that helps you get through a great workout.-L

    1. Thanks. The spin was mostly out a necessity of there being hardly anything in my gym bag, haha.

  4. So clever! I love it! I definitely go with stress and worries and leave them on the treadmill or in the weights! Hopefully no one else picks them up haha. And leaving with a bag full of pride and endorphins? YES!

  7. I love your take on this! I never go the gym, but I can totally relate to the things you carry in, like worries! After a run, they're usually gone.

    1. Thanks. I more often just go for runs than to the gym, but went more often this winter. Really applies to any workout for me. Glad they're usually gone for you too!

    1. Thanks. I'm glad people liked my spin to this. The link up has been fun to be a part of. While the post is true, probably never would have written about this without the theme starting the thought.

    1. Go with the economy size gym bag. The kind you'd get at Costco. Haha.
