The service is very easy, we'll do it Special Agent Oso style with 3 special steps:
Step 1. you go to the site.
Step 2. You search their name or bib
Step 3. You add your phone number to receive text messages.
In addition, runners can sign up to share these notifications to Facebook and Twitter as well. If you want to sign up, just go to http://www.disneylandhalf.racejoy.com/
This year, there is a new element available under race interaction. This year, you can text your support to 567890 or tweet using the hash tag #DisneylandHalf to send messages to runners on big screens along the course. This will be done for both the 10K and Half, with screens at the start line, finish line and Family Reunion area. During the half marathon, messages will also appear at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
Get the full information from the runDisney blog.
Show your support for any runners you know. I plan to be supporting my friends Brian and Dave who are both running.
Will you be running? If you want me to send a message hopefully bound for the JumboTron, just let me know in the comments!
Thank you, sir! Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Looking forward to Dopey Dave Does Dumbo Double Dare!
DeleteHow fun! I have never done a Disney run but this sounds like a great incentive to participate!
ReplyDeleteDisney runs are great. Just another little thing they add to make it magical. You should check out my runDisney primer post if you want to see more about the magic.

What a great idea, John! Way to support everyone! Do they do this for all @runDisney races?
ReplyDeleteThey always do the tracking, but this is the first I can recall giving the ability to tweet and text messages to show on screens.
DeleteThough that may have something to do with the large amounts of AT&T branding that isn't normally there providing the additional feature.
