Park Expansions Galore | #MagicalMickey

This was an exciting weekend for Disney Parks. This weekend was the D23 expo, which can best be described as Disney comic con. It's we're they've started having a lot of big announcements and unveilings, and this year was no exception. I'm going to concentrate on two of the announcements that made me the most excited.

Park Expansions Galore

If you're a regular reader of the Magical Mickey linkup, you might remember a post called Pixar Place Pondering. In that post, I mentioned two rumors for expansions in Disney's Hollywood Studios: a Star Wars themed are and an expansion of the Pixar Place area. As it would turn out, I was correct in what I shared with you and both rumors were true.

First, came the announcement of Star Wars-themed lands coming to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This is also not the addition of just a ride or two, it will be a 14 acre expansion at both parks, the largest single-themed land expansion ever for Disney Parks. The concept art looks fantastic, but that is the point of concept art.

I am sure the expansion will be amazing as well, but I have to say, there had better be a cantina with an animatronic band playing. I can't wait for this to open, though I know it will take a lot of time, though you know I'll be planning a trip whatever year it finally opens

The second announcement was for a Toy Story Land expansion also coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios. This expansion is in response to the overwhelming positive response to Cars Land in Disney California Adventure. The land will shrink you down to the size of the toys and drop you in Andy's back yard. It will add two new attractions as well as give a much needed expansion to Toy Story Midway Mania!

There is a lot more great news for the parks that you can read up on, including Pandora - The World of AVATAR, details about River of Light, and a new film for Soarin'.

Which expansion are you more excited for?

Onto the Linkup

Here are the guidelines:

The post just needs to be about anything Disney related. There have been posts on runDisney, on the parks and even on the Moms Panel, so just give it some Disney and count it.

New posts are fantastic, but for now, if you have a great old post you want to share, drop it on in.

Try to visit as many of the posts that you can as time allows. The point of this is to share and support each other.

If you're going to be a regular, please link back to the host posts. It's just good etiquette and frankly, that's how others will get to your fellow Disney lovers content. Without that link back, they can't find the linkup and therefore the other blogs. Help me help you.

You also have the option to add the linkup code to your post if you'd like. It is not required, just another option. If not, please follow the above link back guideline.

  1. D23 was amazing! They did show 2 concept art pieces both taking place in a Cantina so there better be at least 1 cantina!

and the toy story land expansion looks awesome! the slinky dog family coaster looks fun as does the spinning ride with the aliens

Anticipation is a wonderful thing, in life and in business. Anticipation means to look forward to, to eagerly await, to expect, to long for even. And, this is exactly what you want your customers to be feeling as you launch your product or service!
